Pump Absorption in Rare-Earth Doped Double Clad Fibers: A 3-Parameter Model

Abstract

We introduce a 3-parameter model to accurately capture the recently proposed, physically based, distribution function representation of pump absorption in rare-earth-doped double-clad fibers. This model allows for simple evaluation of wavelength resolved, length dependent absorption.
