Abstract

We demonstrate two key differences between spoof surface plasmon (SSP) and surface plasmon polariton (SPP) in the short wavelength limit. First, SSP involves propagation of both TE and TM modes. Second, the decay profile of the SSP field is described accurately by sum of multiple exponentials.
