Abstract

New devices of optical mode switch and mode selective light source have been developed for mode division multiplexing especially for short distance network. Optical mode switch offers mode exchange flexibility while mode selective light source offers oscillation of individual modes. These devices may contribute to realize non-MIMO flexible network, especially for short distance, in the future.
