Abstract

Polarization-anisotropic photo-induced light scattering is observed in terms of a scattering cone in centrosymmetric sodiumnitroprusside. We investigated the intensity distribution, apex angle and ellipticity as well as the kinetics of the cone in order to explore the processes which are responsible for its appearance. Our experimental findings give strong evidence for the presence of parametric scattering processes.
