Photothermal Deflexion Fourier Transform Spectroscopy : A Tool for High Sensitivity Absorption and Dichroism Measurements

Abstract

Fig. 1 shows an absorption spectrum taken on our apparatus for a single crystal. The resolution is 16 cm−1, and only a few minutes are necessary to cover a spectral range extending from the near UV to the medium infrared. The source is not a complex and expensive "multi-laser system" but a cheap 250 watt quartz halogen lamp.
