Abstract

Theoretical evaluation includes computer ray traces providing spot diagrams, MTF and MTF through-focus-response (TFR) graphs, and lens efficiency data. Laboratory testing began with modified resolution benches and progressed to automated MTF, MTF TFR, and lens efficiency evaluation of the IOLs in an eye model. Photography through the eye model gives an added perspective on the optical performance of IOLs that is easily interpreted.
