Self-Calibrated Pulse Oximetry Development Applied to Data from Human Freedivers

Abstract

We developed an algorithm for pulse oximetry where the wavelength dependent photon pathlength is not assumed to be constant. Applying it to breath-holding freedivers, we found it capturing the change in arterial oxygen saturation accurately.
