Integrated Resonant Trapping in Hollow Photonic Crystals Cavities for Lab-On-Chip Manipulation

Abstract

We demonstrate the use of photonic crystal cavities in order to optically trap submicron-sized objects. The resonant nature of the trap provides different capabilities compared to classical optical tweezers. We study the Brownian motion of trapped particles with back focal plane interferometry.
