Abstract

During the period from January 27 to April 6, 1990, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic measurements were performed in Esrange, North Sweden, and in Ny Aalesund, Spitsbergen, as part of the CHEOPS (Chemistry of Ozone in the Polar Stratosphere) III campaign. As a result of our measurements, time series of zenith column amounts of some of the most important trace gases concerning the ozone chemistry, like O3, NO2, NO, HNO3, HCl, HF, N2O, CH4, H2O, and HDO, are reported and interpreted in terms of chemical and dynamical processes.
