Abstract

Optical devices performing nonlinear operations are highly desirable for parallel optical computing. Nonlinear optical devices based on the liquid crystal light valve [1,2], Fabry-Perot resonator [3], acousto-optic devices [4], and, recently, on four-wave mixing in photorefractive materials [5,6] have been reported.
