Abstract

This paper describes work done on the development of a set of hard dielectric rugate coatings to replace a pair of holographic elements in an avionics head-up-display (HUD). The HUD combiner coatngs have a complex layout, with a double notch rugate coating region for enhancing video camera response and grading to stabilise the rugate notch position with viewing angle.
