Abstract
The performance of advanced optical sensors can be greatly enhanced by the addition of methods for spectral discrimination. Typically, filter wheels, beamsplitters, or multiple apertures are placed in front of the detector array's focal plane. These approaches complicate the optical and mechanical designs and add additional cooling requirements to the system.
