Abstract

A fiber optic borehole strainmeter designed by double Fabry-Pérot interferometers with different cavity lengths and different supporting materials is proposed. It has a strain response of 0.098 μm/με and two temperature responses of 0.73 μm/℃ and 0.17 μm/℃, which is expected to achieve a resolution of 12.3 pε/√Hz.
