Nonlinear Impairment Scaling in Few-Mode Fiber Transmission Systems with Mode Permutation Technique

Abstract

Few-mode fiber transmission systems with three states of the permutation strategies are evaluated using a GN model with MDL considered, for the first time. CMP strategy outperforms by 0.3 dB in terms of SNR difference among modes with an MDL of 0.1 dB/km.
