Capacity Limits of Space-Division Multiplexed Submarine Links Subject to Nonlinearities and Power Feed Constraints

Abstract

We compute the capacity limits of space-division multiplexed submarine links. We demonstrate that limitations due to nonlinearities become negligible compared to power-feed limitations as the propagation distance and the total number of spatial channels increase.
