Abstract

Picosecond-pulses with a center-wavelength spanning from 1489nm to 1589nm is generated by a harmonically mode-locked fiber laser that exploits a SOA to provide both optical gain and mode-locking. Optical pulses with a tuning range of 100nm are generated at 4.7GHz.
