Phase-modulation-shift-keying for fast dispersion compensation and optical labeling in optical packet switched networks

Abstract

This paper proposes Phase-Modulation-Shift-Keying, where sinusoidal phase modulation is put ON/OFF onto intensity modulated data according to digital label. Optical label is directly detected by adding dispersion. Packet-by-packet dispersion compensation can be achieved by this method.
