Flexible pulse waveform generation using a silica waveguide based spectrum synthesis circuit

Abstract

We demonstrate pulse waveform shaping with a circuit employing an arrayed waveguide grating pair and amplitude-phase controllers. We flexibly synthesized the frequency components of a mode-locked laser to produce 40 GHz square pulses with various widths.
