Micromechanical Wavelength Add/Drop Switching: From Device to Network Architecture

Not Accessible

Abstract

Micro-electro-mechanical (MEMS) components can play a surprisingly diverse role in add/drop switching, ranging from simple 2-port tunable filters to large port-count crossconnects assembled from wavelength selective switches. I will review the various kinds of MEMS switch components and show the wavelength add/drop architectures they enable.
