Low-loss polarisation-independent dynamic gain-equalisation filter

Abstract

A novel dynamic gain equalisation filter is described. Extinction tuning is by variable Faraday rotator. Wavelength tuning is by temperature control of a waveplate. It is suitable for active gain control of optically amplified systems.
