Novel temperature insensitive long-period grating by using the refractive index of the outer cladding

Abstract

We show the temperature sensitivity of LPGs can be completely eliminated by using the outer cladding index. Blue shift of LPG combined with a red shift caused by the recoating led to temperature sensitivity 0.07nm/100°C.
