Abstract
In high frequency subcarrier systems chromatic dispersion gives rise to a relative delay or phase shift between the upper and low optical sidebands associated with the subcarrier frequency which upon square law detection results in a periodic variation of the received RF signal according to cos2(πDλ2f2L/c).
