Abstract

The high saturation output power and the low polarization dependence are advantages of erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs).1,2 The polarization insensitivity of each optical component is an important factor for normal polarization independent EDFA. On the other hand, it is sometimes required to amplify optical signal with its polarization maintain.3
