STEADI-STATE INTENSITY FLUCTUATIONS, PHOTON STAISTICS, AND MODE PARTITIONING OF INJECTION LASERS

Abstract

The intrinsic fluctuations of injection lasers operated in a steady-state determine their ultimate performance. In addition to these steady-state fluctuations, direct modulation creates transient fluctuations which we can avoid by using dc-driven injection laser with external modulator.
