Inverse design of an ultra-compact 3 dB splitter for four modes with dual polarizations

Abstract

An ultra-compact power splitter for TE0, TE1, TM0 and TM1 modes with a footprint of 6 × 5.25 μm2 is designed. The insertion loss is < 1 dB, and the crosstalk is < -15 dB.
