Abstract

We have been developing the optical pickup to record and reproduce various data on DVD-RAM disks. Regarding the objective lens of high numerical aperture and laser diode of short wavelength used for DVD-RAM compare to those of CD, it is very important for DVD-RAM disk to verify the degree of disk tilt and defocus under the operating condition because the signal quality including the recording characteristics are greatly influenced according to disk tilt and defocus.[1]
