Abstract

Recently, DVD has been introduced into the consumer market. It is important to guarantee backward compatibility by offering CD-read capability in DVD drives. Therefore, on manufacturing DVD drives and optical pick-ups for DVD drives, it is not exceptional to evaluate those products for both DVD and CD test discs. However, using two different kinds of disc is very cumbersome and time-consuming in production line.
