Abstract

The design goals of the application interface of the 5984 Optotech 5.25 inch optical disk drive are quite simple: modularize components to hit the broadest market base possible; and put as much of the burden of integration on Optotech -- thus speeding applications from development to marketplace. To accomplish these goals, several hardware and software interfaces had to be designed.
