Abstract
Free Space Optical Interconnects (FSOI's) have been shown to have advantages over electrical interconnects in terms of speed, energy and density for global links.1,2,3. A major class of FSOI's is the microbeam interconnect, which uses a pair of microlenses to connect the optical transmitter and receiver, as is illustrated in Figure 1.
