Kinoform phase plates for focal plane irradiance control

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Random phase plates (RPPs), widely used in Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) systems worldwide for beam smoothing, produce Airy-pattern-like far-field profiles which contain 81 to 84% of the incident energy in their central maximum.
