Beamlet laser: technology development for a national ICF ignition facility

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

An inertial-confinement fusion (ICF) ignition facility will require an ultraviolet laser driver delivering an energy of 1-2 MJ in a carefully-shaped pulse with a length of 15-20 ns, but with the bulk of the energy in the last 3-5 ns.
