Abstract
We present the numerical solution for the scattering of an electron by a one-dimensional atom model in the presence of a strong laser field. We investigate a regime in which the incoming electron wave packet is partially captured by the neutral atom. We computed the spectrum of the coherently scattered light from the time dependent dipole moment. The generated light contains frequencies which are odd as well as even integer multiples of the fundamental laser frequency. The presence of a bound state resonance dramatically enhances the generation of very high-order harmonics. We will comment on the close relationship between light spectra generated by the scattering process and those which are due to photodetachment.
