Abstract
How is it possible to recover the three-dimensional (3-D) curvature of a surface given its differential projections in a stereoscopic view? Previously, it has been shown that the differentially imaged curvature of markings (e.g., texture) on a 3-D surface theoretically allow for the recovery of the surface's 1-D curvature. However, numerical studies suggest that this solution is unstable in application.1
