Generation and characterization of picosecond optical pulses from resonant periodic gain GaAs surface-emitting lasers

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Picosecond optical pulses generated from a resonant periodic gain GaAs surface-emitting laser optically pumped by a picosecond dye laser are characterized. Pulse-width measurements from cross-correlation data, pulse spectra, and relative delay between the pump and generated pulses with a theoretical analysis are reported.
