Abstract

Cr:LiSrAIF6 (LiSAF) was first reported to lase in 1989 by a group at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory using Kr ion laser pumping.1 We grew the first boules of this material which could yield significant rods for flashlamp pumped laser studies using the Czochralski technique. The growth parameters and some of the relevant crystalline properties are shown.
