Abstract
The tutorial will begin with a discussion of the underlying physics of tunable solid-state laser media. A review of specific systems, including alexandrite, Ti:sapphire, and Co:MgF2, will follow and will include information on modes of operation and operating characteristics of each mode. The conclusion of the talk will be a survey of new research areas.
