Intrinsic optical bistability of metal-coated semiconductor particles

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We consider a glass having spheroidalshaped particles dispersed in the medium. The particles have a metallic shell of silver and a semiconductor core material. Investigating core materials, we study the exciton-biexciton resonance in CuCl, the bound exciton resonance in CdS, and the exciton resonance in GaAs.
