Abstract
Using prism and grating coupling techniques, surface plasma wave effects have been used to investigate metal interfaces, metal-dielectric interfaces, and other nonlinear processes.1 Here we present a comprehensive experimental and theoretical study of first-order coupling to SPWs and the use of this technique to characterize the optical constants of metal films.
