Abstract

Chirped pulse amplification has led to the development of high brightness sources with peak powers in the terawatt range [1]. Recently, we reported on the generation of 300 fs pulses at the millijoule level in an alexandrite regenerative amplifier [2]. In this paper we present new results extending the CPA technique to the generation of 100 fs pulses with peak powers of 20 Gw.
