Abstract

Similarity data for very large color differences, obtained with the method of triads, are presented. The stimulus consisted of three separated fields subtending 1.06°, each field in a different color. The colors varied in hue, saturation, and luminance. Approximately 73.000 judgments are collected. The data are analyzed using the Luv 1976 color distance diagram.¹ In general, the data accord satisfactorily with the Luv color space provided that weighting factors are inserted in the distance formula.
