Abstract
Previously1 we showed that replacing the ordinary mirror in a double-pass scanning microscope with a phase-conjugate mirror had the advantages of not inverting the reflected light distribution, aberration correction, and ease of system alignment. We present a detailed analysis which shows that the phase-conjugate scanning microscope also resolves two-point and straight edge objects better than the conventional, single-pass, and double-pass microscope.
