Abstract

Unobscured telescopes achieving a high degree of aberration correction over moderate fields of view have been studied by others.1 It is well known that for LWIR applications designs of diffraction-limited wide-field low-f/No. three-mirror telescopes can be achieved using general aspheric surfaces. We explored a class of wide-field all-reflecting telescope which achieves reasonable performance at low f/Nos. Designs utilizing low-order aspheric surfaces as well as designs using simple conics are described.
