Abstract
The traditional graphical ray tracing method has been used as an educational example,1 as well as a useful technique in some problems of lens design.2 With the use of a microcomputer or PC, this method can be revived and used for solving some particular problems of lens design in an efficient and interesting way. With adequate formulas for the computer, this method becomes a useful tool for solving the problems of finding the radius of curvature or refractive index for some special cases constrained by the lens design.
