Abstract
We have studied ultrafast laser pulses with an autocorrelator system using a thin-film pellicle beam splitter to avoid secondary reflections. We observed components of the correlator signal caused by ambient acoustic vibrations rather than true features of the pulse shape. Resonances were observed at a number of frequencies by injecting a known acoustic signal into the vicinity of the beam splitter.
