Abstract
The atomic beam studies of Feldmann, Welge, and co-workers,1 utilizing single-ion or electron detection, have indicated the probable importance of stepwise double ionization of Sr via Sr+ excited states. Recently, in a strong field regime (≳100 GW/cm2), Agostini and Petite2 found a broad low-energy peak which was associated with the near-energy-resonant autoionizing decay to Sr+(2P1/2,3/2).
