Diffraction of guided waves in anisotropic slab waveguides by interdigitated-electrode-induced gratings

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Interdigitated electrode devices are widely used in integrated optics to produce phase gratings via the linear electrooptic effect. These phase gratings can diffract lightwaves and thus are capable of functioning as switches, modulators, deflectors, multipliers, orthogonal transformers, etc.
