A method to predict EDFA multichannel gain from single laser measurements

Abstract

Using a single-channel tunable laser source at multiple wavelengths and power levels, a series of noise gain profile measurements predicts the gain for arbitrary multichannel saturation. This method includes the effect of spectral-hole burning.
