A Giant Chirp Oscillator at Ultra-low Repetition Rates

Abstract

A repetition rate of 506 kHz is achieved in an all-fibre laser, mode-locked with a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror. The laser produces 7 nJ pulses with a broad 7.5 nm spectral width, compressible to 540 fs.
