All-Optical 40-GHz Switch Using Cascade Nonlinearities in a Quasi-Phase-Matched Lithium Niobate Waveguide

Abstract

Characteristics of an all-optical switch employing a 3-cm-long quasi-phase-matched lithium niobate are investigated through switching experiments considering the temporal widths of the input clock and signal pulses. Stable and efficient 40-GHz operation is successfully demonstrated.
