The Propagation of a Discrete Vortex Soliton in Nonlinear Photonic Superlattices

Abstract

We investigate the propagation of discrete vortex solitons in rectangular photonic superlattices and demonstrate that certain binary superlattices stabilize vortex solitons and vortex breathers due to a balance between superlattice effects and nonlinearity.
